Privacy policy
Effective date: 3 October 2026.
Information stored on your device
Dubai Times uses browser local storage to remember puzzle progress, game statistics, candidate notes, theme preference, and completed results waiting to sync. You can remove this information by clearing site data in your browser.
Optional accounts
If you create an account, we store your username, a one-way password hash with a unique salt, account creation time, login sessions, and completed game results. We do not ask for a real name, email address, or payment information during registration. Passwords are not stored in readable form.
Leaderboards
Signed-in daily word, unlimited word, and Sudoku results are stored to calculate public aggregate rankings. Public leaderboards show usernames and aggregate performance, not passwords, network addresses, or contact details.
Contact messages
If you use the contact form, we store the name, optional reply email, message, and submission time. This information is used only to review and respond to the message and is not sold. Do not include passwords, payment information, or other sensitive details.
Security and abuse prevention
Short-lived technical data such as an irreversibly hashed network address may be used to limit automated login, registration, result-submission, and contact-form attempts. Hosting and database infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare, which processes requests needed to deliver and protect the service.
Advertising
Dubai Times does not currently load advertising cookies or third-party advertising scripts. If advertising is enabled, this policy and the site’s consent controls will be updated before personalised advertising is used where consent is required.
Your choices
Playing without an account keeps game statistics on that browser only. Account creation is optional. Signed-in players can permanently delete their account and associated leaderboard results from the Account panel.
Changes
Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
