How to play Sudoku
Fill the 9×9 grid so that every row, every column, and every outlined 3×3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. The starting numbers are fixed and cannot be changed.
Start with scanning
Look for a row, column, or box that already contains many numbers. Determine which digits are missing, then check the crossing rows and columns to see where each missing digit can legally go.
Use candidate notes
Select an empty cell and enable Notes to record possible digits without committing to one. As nearby cells are solved, remove candidates. A cell with only one remaining candidate is a naked single. A digit that can appear in only one cell within a row, column, or box is a hidden single.
Avoid guessing too early
The daily puzzle is designed to require sustained scanning but not specialist techniques. When stuck, revisit each 3×3 box and compare its empty cells with the crossing lines. A candidate that appears flexible in a row may become forced when viewed from its box.
Controls
Click or tap a cell, then choose 1–9. Use Erase to clear it and Notes to toggle pencil marks. Keyboard players can use the number keys, Backspace or Delete, and N for notes. Press Check when the grid is full.
